Children's Vitamin D

Vitamin D is quite unique in that the best source is from sunlight. Although Vitamin D is present in certain foods, such as eggs and oily fish, which your child might eat, and even if your child is outside a lot, it is still recommended that children between the ages of 1 and 4 take a Vitamin D supplement. It is not necessary to give your baby a Vitamin D supplement if they are being formula fed as most infant formula milk already contains the right levels of Vitamin D for your child. However, it is recommended to give your child a Vitamin D supplement if they are breastfeeding past the age of 1 to ensure they are receiving the right amount.
